Ways Your Dog Can Benefit from Our Play and Train Day Camp

Most of the people who worked from home for a major portion of the pandemic have returned to the office. This has led to an increase in cases of bad behavior and separation anxiety in dogs that are now left home alone all day. Last spring, The Perfect Pup opened a new day program for dogs called our Dog Training Day Camp. It has been very popular with dog owners since the pandemic began to wind down. It provides a positive, fun, and supervised environment where your dog can spend the day playing with other dogs and learn some wonderful new things. Here are ways your dog can benefit from our play and train day camp.

Ways Your Dog Can Benefit from Our Play and Train Day Camp

Your dog has an excessive amount of energy to spare.
If you have returned to the office after working from home because of the pandemic, your dog probably has a lot of energy to spare. Without those frequent walks and extra play time sessions with you, your dog may resort to negative behaviors to deal with their excessive energy. At our Play and Train Day Camp, your dog will get lots of exercise both inside and outside. We use positive reinforcement to exercise both a dog’s body and mind.

Your dog is social and needs companionship.
Dogs thrive when they get to socialize with other canines and human beings. If the whole family has gone back to work and school, your dog may get lonely. This is especially true if you are an only dog family. If a dog lacks socialization, it can lead to several behavioral problems and even aggression. If you bring your dog to The Perfect Pup’s Day Camp, your dog will be able to freely socialize in a positive and supervised environment.

Dog day camp can prevent separation anxiety.
Separation anxiety has become a common problem in dogs that are now left home after the pandemic. Symptoms of separation anxiety include defecating or urinating on the floor, destroying household things, and excessive whining. Extreme cases may include escape attempts or self-injury. Dogs who aren’t doing well at home may do better at our day camp because they can bond with our staff and stay occupied with the other dogs. We have a flexible drop-off and pick-up schedule for those who work during the day.

A dog day camp can help your dog keep a routine.
When you were working from home, your dog likely had a routine. This routine may have included feeding times, playtime, and bathroom breaks. Now that you are back at work, your hours may affect that routine. Regular bathroom breaks and feeding times can improve your dog’s digestion and bladder health. These things also help in weight management. We can mimic your dog’s routine from before you went back to work. This will help in keeping their mind and body healthy.
